after 9-11, the country seemed to puLL together and it seemed to be a great "upLifting moment" (not the event itseLf obviousLy, but our response to it). but one sickening thing to me that emerged amidst the coLLective response, were some peopLe's version of patriotism. basicaLLy, peopLe feeL free to be openLy racist and hide behind the banner of patriotism.
now i bear witness to the fervent nationaLism gripping our country. regardLess of the antiwar protests, the nationaList voices are booming ever Louder. i'm Lucky i Live in pinko-centraL so the "nationaLists" aren't the majority here. i aLso assume the nationaLists aren't the majority here on this board, they're just the Loudest, at times most offensive.
