Yo Snoopy! Yes, i was a member with Roselip, a most excellent site, about 2 months ago and at that time they did allow outsiders to join, no problem. i just checked and it appears as though things have not changed at all. The $77/mo charge seems steep, but for the content, which is all DRM-FREE, it is undeniably an excellent bargain. Just go over to babelfish (http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_txt) and translate the membership page (http://www.roselip-fetish.com/join/)... also note that at the bottom of that membership page there are 2 blue links-- the one on the right being the cancellation link. Make sure you cancel at least 2 days before your 30 days are up, or else you'll be automatically re-billed the same $77 fee. A catastrophe, no doubt. (i'm sure you're well aware of this, just remember where the link is) Also note that when you cancel-- your membership instantly is terminated, regardless towards how many days remain of your 30 day payment. This is completely bogus, but i don't have enough of a mastery over the Japanese language to properly scold the folks in charge.

Additionally, they once banned me for 24 hours because i downloaded like.. 12 consecutive gigs in a 4 or so hour stretch! My current Rose-lip folder size stands at nearly 40 gigs... i think the cut-off is ten gigs per day download. Good grief, i also just remembered that they request that you only download ONE file at a time!! Most of the videos come divided into approximately 55MB-sized segments, so one at a time is a bit of a nuisance, but whatever.

ALSO--- on the membership page, when you click the green square to go to the customer info/credit id form, with MC-CREDIT, it seems to take quite some time to load. i've just tried it and it took nearly 2 entire minutes! Once you've attained membership status with Roselip, the website navigation and file accessibility speed appear to be entirely dependent upon your connection speed. When i downloaded there, i had turbo roadrunner... something like 13Mbps transfer speed capability, and roselip granted near-full advantage of it all.

Oh yes, i used windows all the way through, with Firefox as my browser; i suppose Roselip also supports Internet Explorer ... but i doubt anyone's still using that outdated obscenity. :)
the only thing is - roselip doesn't offer all that many photos. there were only 5 or so photoshoots to choose from, each with 100 or so images taken, and none of them were to my liking. All the jpg files i have were taken as stills from the downloaded video-clips!

edit: the images below are all excellent examples of the quality of those clips, by the way; viewable full-screen without any pixel distortion whatsoever!

edit 2: i've realized i'm essentially set for life when it comes to my collection of Japanese domination/facesitting stuff, thanks to Roselip.. but that's not to say i'll ever stop acquiring more. all this stuff actually has me rather paranoid that my hard-drive is about to go kaput... i've been meaning to ask some professional in the field what's the most reliable hard-drive on the market... price being a non-factor.

Rubis, if you're looking for reliability, what you really want is to get a collection of hard-drives and arrange them using RAID

If you set it up properly, when one disk dies, you just replace it and all of the content that was on it can be automatically reconstructed from what was stored on the other(s) (I won't bore everyone with the details of how that works, you can look it up).

I seem to recal that you can buy RAID arrarys off-the-shelf these days, but I can't remember any of the details. Worth looking into if you want complete reliability and don't care what you have to spend to get it - more reasonable now that disk drives are pretty cheap too.

thank-you! although, i must confess that i was hoping to be tipped-off on some sort of clear-crystal cube.. bearing , um a state of impenetrable divine holographic technology, or something of that nature. like maybe that stuff they used to make Tron. :) yeah... seriously though, i'll look at length into these raid configurations. i already have 3 hard-drives, all running independently - one main internal and 2 separate external, for back-up - so perhaps i'll be able to have them join forces as one. or no, no that wouldn't make sense... i'll just call Geek Squad!
