CM and everyone else,
I thought since I am sharing experiences I should share the research and other stuff involved with it.
Fainting is a loss of consciousness, usually brief, caused by a temporary decrease in the brain's oxygen supply. The episode may be completely harmless, or it may be a symptom of a serious underlying medical problem. Fainting episodes or syncope are treated as a medical emergency until causation is established. Medical causes of syncope include irregular heartbeats, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), diminished blood flow to the brain from obstruction, transient ischemic attacks ("mini-strokes"), dehydration, pregnancy, and hypotension (low blood pressure) or as a side effect of medicines used to treat hypertension.
Not uncommonly, sudden hyperactivity of the vagus nerve, one of the nerves that controls heart rate and blood pressure, leads to a fainting episode, termed "vasovagal response". The vagus nerve can be stimulated by a number of physiologic and psychologic factors: pain, fear, stress, sight of blood, etc. When the vagus nerve is stimulated, it decreases heart rate and lowers blood pressure so much that there may be inadequate blood flow to the brain. This decrease in the brain's blood supply leads to fainting within a few seconds. Vasovagal response is by far the most common cause of syncope or fainting.
We are all susceptible to activation of the vasovagal reflex that results in a lowered blood pressure. Each person's susceptibility, however, is affected by genetic make-up, dietary factors, psychological make-up, and acute triggers such as infection, allergic reaction, and some medical procedures. Nearly all vasovagal episodes resolve with the body's own protective treatment: lying flat, so the head is on the same level as the heart, and blood flows more easily to the brain.
This is a dangerous fetish fantasy we have so be aware people. Take care and have fun.
I will post one more story of my Asian facesitting experiences because of the nice responses and for CM. :D
