Being a web designer, surfing the web for pornography is just looking for trouble. Porn websites are notourious for cheap and nasty web design, and there has been a surprising amount of times when pay more attention to how badly the site has been designed to the site content itself. It can really have an effect on the content, and make it less appealing.
Budget shouldn't be an issue. Hire a modest designer instead of building the website yourself, the difference should be dramatically better. It doesn't have to be a visual banquet, As long as it's visually consistent, the navigation is clear, there is effective use of HTML and it doesn't want to make the customer CLOSE THE BROWSER AND PUNCH THEIR MONITOR.

Even some of the high budget web designs are actually quite busy, misleading and forcing, and spam is probably the worst thing you can do to a potential customer.

Funnily enough, some of the best designed porn sites I've seen have been smother websites. I'll name a few favorites when I find them again.

I agree, I'm just an amature web designer and sometimes I come accross web design that is physically painful. I would like to have like an Extreme Web Makeover of several sites. But yeah, I'm also kinda lazy so yeah. LoL
