None of you can really mock USA Football (NFL) because of a few reasons. Number one is that 75% or more of America loves it. Two is that I play it for my HS, so remarks about the sport offends me. Three is that the Superbowl, which is the NFL Championship for those of you who don't know, is one of the most watched sports events, let alone TV shows in history, with 30 seconds of airtime during commercials costing anywhere from 1.5 - 3 million dollars. And last, almost any Rugby player would be brutally murdered if they had to go up against some of the Defensive or Offensive lineman in a grudge match.
But anyway... great pic.

that is FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what you people over in europe play is SOCCER
get your facts straight!!!
no offense to anyone out there. but i think rugby is a little girly or a little gay when you compare it to Football.. no offense, so dont start hassling me about it:evillaugh
Soccer kicks ass too ! England and Brazil all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice pic's, thanks. To you people across the pond. Your just mad because US football has big plays and the players make big money. Hell that game you call rugby is played by every kid from 10- 15, so when you guy stop playing a kids game and start playing a mans game maybe you guys can start to make some money.
;)
I think all of us USA guys remember playing a back yard game of rugby or should I say kill the man.:D

arguement aside, when/where is that from!?! and who is it?? thats by far one of the hottest pics ive seen, the pictures that were made without the original intent of them being trample fetish pictures are always the best, such as magazine pics or scenes from tv or movies, they always have something that trmple.com or whatnot pictures lack...

From the stadium in the background, it looks like it was shot at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. Probably a promo for the Hula Bowl (collage All-star game) that used to be played on X-mas every year
I think, this pic is from the last years "Uncle Sam" (clothes) catalog.

Just to clear things up, football is played with a ball using feet. Rugby football is a talentless game played by people who are no good at real football. American football is a soft version of rugby!:2guns:

Bitch Bitch Bitch....I am an Australian and I love american football....but I also love Rugby and have been playing all my life....Each code of Football Rugby, American, Soccer and aussie rules requires a different skill so why bitch these guys are all suited to their job...And I will add that the Denver Broncos refused a challenge by the Brisbane Broncos while they were here a few years ago to a charity match...

Soccer is an American term for football, and not something used outside the States. In UK when we think of football we don't think about "Soccer" neither do we think about "American Football"

hmm.... in Canada we use the terms soccer and Football too... Its NOT only the United States that uses those terms.

Might be so but you suggest in one of your earlier post that what we play is "soccer" which its not. Its just a definition given by you guys as in your culture American Football is the dominant game, hence you call football "soccer" which is not the term used over here, and hence not the correct term.

What is it with you people. Call it football or "a soft game of rugby", why the hell does it matter to you? It seems this conversation has strayed a little. But I might as well give my opinion while I'm at it. How many of you rugby players would like to go up against a defensive end who weighs 350 pounds? Football takes so much more tactics than rugby, we take it play by play, and don't try to make it look like a SOCCER game (no, i refuse to call soccer football :) ).

If American football is such a clever tactical game, why does a team need a 350 lb lump of a defender? Just a thought ;)
While we're at it, what are people's views on baseball? It is a rip-off of cricket or rounders? :D
On the original subject - I love the pic too.

ive seen cricket before, its the most boring game created by man.
At least baseball has got clubs, i dont know about cricket but the only cricket teams i ever see on TV are international teams... so tell me do you guys have clubs... and does so much money get spend on cricket as it does on baseball?
good god, this is turning out into a sports forum..
bwt.. i dont mean to put down any of the great people from the countries who play cricket/rugby/soccer.... im a big soccer fan myself... ENGLAND and Brazil all the way....
k my last comment on sports.... hehe.. unless i get pissed off ;)

Firstly the pic is great.
Secondly I love football (the beautiful game) & hate rugby, so I have to slag off rugby at every opportunity. This was too good an opportunity to miss.
Mediman, you miss the point with cricket, it's not boring, it's relaxing.
Question for baseballers. Baseball is based on rounders which is a girls game, so why do you have to wear body armour to play a girls game?
:D

All right listen up you bastards:
1 there is a whole world out there all around north America that plays football its the proper name
2 "soccer " was around before American football You yanks hijacked the word football to describe a sport more boring to watch on tv than base ball and cricket combined
3 the only reason so many people watch the superbowl is because they want to see what all the fuss is about (nothing )
4 so you think rugby is for pussys? have you played it? if not you would change your mind after playing a few games!
5 ever watched the All Blacks play auzzies Souht Africa England
6 England has not won a test match series aginst New Zealand in 100 years!
7 Rugby League Have you ever seen the Allblack league eh ? Its different with far more tackling than regular rugby
8 only the Yanks could turn a punny 1hr game time match into a 3 hour snoreathon. with pre game and post game bull shit
9 Football " scoccer as you Yanks say" has two 45 min ( I think) halfs with everyone on and playing all the time thats 90 mins
10 Rugby and Rugby League have two 40 min halfs with all the team playing all the time thats 80 mins
11 your Yankie NFL and the Canadian CFL have 4 15 min quaters for 60 min game time
12 with an offensive and defensive line you hardly have any real amount of game time for any of the players coupled with frequent time outs and game time clock stoppeges it amounts to a very broken up game that is BORING BORING BORING
one day cricket is pretty good but the three and five day games are worse than watching ten pin bowling and curling combined or the CFL and NFL
If they took away the players gloves (except for the catcher) you'd have something much more exciting (base ball)
I would call the cricket bat quite a "club" and the ball is heavier and much harder than a girly base ball the players have no girly gloves(except for the wicket keeper) the worlds fastest fast bowlers bowl around 120 miles hr still think its for girls ?
no one has mentioned ice hocky its about the only sport that still has regular fights you have to go to a game to get the real experience Canada won gold for mens and womens ice hocky at the Olympics
