Well, we got our first playoff win since '84. Now we need to beat the Panthers, who are Deshaun Fosterless. Can we do it???

And how about the Steeler/Bronco match-up? Predictions? Analysis?

I say Steelers in a squeaker, if the defense can play at the level it has been. Offensively, they match up well.

Cheers!

OK I got the analysis of the Seattle vs. Carolina matchup.
Seattle is going in there very hungry for a win over the Panthers. But like I will tell everyone that they will be inexperienced against the Panthers but if the end justify the means. We will remain undefeated at home because of our offense and defense will win it out.
As far as Denver vs. Pittsburgh matchup Pittsburgh is going to be inspired to win this one because Jerome Bettis is going to retire after this season. But I have a feeling that Denver will win because they will outrush their opponent and score a lot of points.
So I will say for the record that it will be Seattle vs. Denver for the Superbowl championship.
As far as DTD goes with the Go Yankees chant. SAVE IT FOR BASEBALL SEASON!

The winner of the Pittsburgh/Denver match up will win the Superbowl. No question in my mind. Especially now that the Bears are gone.

I fucking hate Vanderjagt. He had to have missed that last field goal at least 25 yards wide...the best kicker in NFL history, and he misses it with the championships on the line...(They would have pissed on Denver). The last fumble should have been a Colt's touchdown, but Roethlisberger got lucky and grabbed the runner's feet.

I want to see a Steeler/Seahawk Superbowl.

Let DTD have her moment, we can all go back to not caring about baseball after the Super Bowl. ;)

If Alexander can't go then I see Carolina bringing the pain all day.

I'm remaining tight-lipped on the Pitt/Den until after the game. ;)

But Carolina is playing out of their minds right now, Steve Smith can not and will not be stopped.

Go Steelers!!

New England lost to Denver itself, 5 turn overs!!! Denver didn't do anything special. Steelers, on other hand, are giving best matches ever. Vs Bangels and Colts.

The Vanderjet missed kick is a moot point. Interception was rule incompletion and NFL accepted that. Steelers had a relatively easier win but thanks to the officials.....

I'm actually MORE nervous this week than last.

1. We were expected to get destroyed last week.

2. We played out of our minds.

This week it's game #3 on the road and at Denver.

I REALLY want Jerome and Hines to at-least have a shot at a ring so I'm crossing every crossable body part during the game tomorrow.

I would like to see Bettis end his career but it will be on a sour note as Seahawks wins the Superbowl. Go ahead and underestimate the Seahawks if you like. As far as schedule goes both teams had it tough thru regular season.
Anyway to me making it is half the battle.

Are you talking about NFL?

Go To NFL.com, conference standing

http://www.nfl.com/standings/conference

See Sea Hawks. What it is? .430, lowest in whole AFC + AFC!! Do you know how it's calculated?

They won with indy when indy had nothing left to play for and all starters were resting.

NFC champion ship game was interesting to see. But what really happened? Carolina's running backs injured. 3rd backup goings was in very begining. No running game, banged up defense. What's left? Steve Smith. Cover him with 5 guys and viola! Before that they played RedSkins, who had no offense.

Steelers have earned it. And it will be only fair for them to win Super Bowl. They are consistently a strong team since last 10 years.

1,2,3 STEELERS

Footslave3000

Better remember Washington has beaten us before. In the playoff game we left nothing to chance here.
Also may I remind you that we played Jacksonville and lost. In the NFC East we went 4-1.
We played 3 AFC teams and we went 2-1.
Now I will admit that the NFC West is weak right now. We proved that by going 6-0 against them.
We won against Minnesota team that is having problems but we lost against Green Bay.
Now we never went aginst Carolina but you are right on one matter. They had no good running game left. But Steve Smith we had to cover because we didn't want to see him get 200+ yards plus they could have beaten us another way. Like Tim Carter scored a TD on us. But another factor also played on the Carolina game is that Delhomme didn't play well at all.
Only 2 games went OT in the regular season.
Seattle vs. Washington Lost 20 to 17
Seattle vs. NY Giants won 24 to 21
So anyway if I have recalled that we do have an edge over the Steelers.
We had played them 14 times and we are 8-6 against them.

Momentum guys, and both teams have it. Seahawks may have had an easy schedule, but that means nothing right now. They made it to the Superbowl against teams that didn't have an easy schedule. They beat the teams to get there so they deserve to be there. Pittsburgh. Same deal. Although its a bit sweeter for them. 6th seed, on the road. Wow!

Giblet
01-30-2006, 11:57 PM
I'm just tickled pink here.
Seahawks are my #1 team, but before there was such a thing as a club in Seattle, I was a Steeler fan.

I'm rooting for the Hawks, but if Pittsburgh wins, I won't be cryin'!

Honestly, Seattle should take this.
Young QB's traditionally tank in the big game and Ben's the 2nd youngest (next to Marino's SB appearance)
Seattle has the MVP of the league while Pittsburgh's best runner will probably get 10 yards this game.
Ward is better than Jackson but I'll take Jurevicius or Engram over um, whoever else Pittsburgh lines up over there.
Two strong defenses are a wash.

Go Seahawks!

Sea chickens....They get a walk over to superbowl. If they were in any other division...

But you are right, it doesn't matter easy or hard schedule. One game.....

Btw, they just escaped a road accident. Mr. MVP, QB and 5 top guys were on a van and hit some one. No one injured.....

Tom Brady was a young QB ;)

Footslave3000
01-31-2006, 7:04 AM
kadddooo I won't say much about Tom Brady but he wasn't the youngest BUT he is the best superbowl QB I have seen. Much as I hate the guy I will give him his props here. More amazing about it is that they have done it without a running game. Can you imagine if they had a healthy Corey Dillion? I will be saying that the dynasty must die.
You have to remember who mentored Hasselbeck down in Green Bay before coming to Seattle. FARVE that's who mentored him and to me Farve will still be the best QB with a lot of heart and even if he retires next season I will thank him for 2 things. 1.For having a great career to be remembered 2.For mentoring Hasselbeck so that he is prepared to bring Seattle a superbowl trophy.
Our test will come next season.

Ben's been too the playoffs twice including TWO AFC title games.

One of which was against New England.

Yes I understand most of our core is young and have never been here BUT most of Seattle's core are first timers as-well.

Win or lose I'm just happy to say we're there and we did what we did to get there.

Make no mistake I think Seattle will get another shot at the big dance as might Pittsburgh.

BUT you green goblins are sure as hell gonna have some rowdy dance partners this sunday. :)

Well, this got me out of my shell... something I know a lot about-- football. Heck, even the name is enough to get me thinking about fem-dom...

First, let's clarify some things previously stated: Yes, the Seahawks did have a much easier schedule, we knew that going into the season, and the forecast stayed true. But the Steelers get to play the Browns twice, so you have to take that into account. So, what have they done to get this far? You can't knock the Seahawks, they did what they had to do, sometimes without Alexander. (side note: How can he be the "Most Valuble Player" if they can spank a playoff team without him?) BUT, the Steelers are not only the first ever team to be a #6 seed and get to the Super Bowl, but the first team to ever knock off the #1, #2, and #3 teams in the playoffs. Advantage, Steelers.

Secondly, Tom Brady was the youngest QB to WIN a Super Bowl. Big Ben would replace him if the Steelers come through.

Also, despite the history of the franchises, Seattle has more players with SB experience than Pittsburgh does.

I think people are underestimating the Seahawks defense. All week we've been hearing about the Steelers' D, and they are very good, but the gap isn't as big as you would be led to believe. The Seahawks took a while to integrate the new players into the system, but the past few months have shown it was worth the wait. I will go out on a limb and say I don't see either team rushing for more than 100 yards. Unless Parker busts a long one, which he could. But Alexander is in for a modest day, and, the Steelers haven't done anything on the ground in several games. So that's a wash. And that means it's up to the passing game. Two very good and very underrated QB's, a healthy Darryl Jackson, which is a HUGE factor, and Ward will get his TD, but the big difference to me is going to be Heath Miller over the middle. Seattle will have it's hands full stopping the run, and their corners are good enough to hang witht the WRs, but that is going leave things open for the TE, and Miller is going to develop into a superstar very shortly.

Prediction: I like the line (Pittsburgh by 4). Sounds about right, and it makes me nervous to favor one or the other, so it must be OK. Really there are only three things that can happen: The game goes down to the wire, Pittsburgh blows out Seattle, or the other way around. I could see it being close, and I could see emotion pushing the Steelers to a big win; I can't see Seattle blowing out the Steelers. Maybe I am biased, as a Steelers' fan since childhood; but honestly if Seattle wins, I wouldn't be upset to call them champions. ( there is no "hate" factor here, unlike the year Tampa Bay played the Raiders, when I wished they would BOTH lose, preferably with as many career-ending injuries as possible.)

So let's call it a close game: Pittsburgh 27, Seattle 24. Steelers' win, but Seattle covers-- take the points.

02-05-2006, 10:31 AM
Eh, I was thinking Seahawks by 10, but now I’m thinking they’ll get it by 6. No deep analysis behind that, but since I’m a non-latte-drinking Seattleista outcast I might as well stick with the home team.

Superbowl is the only day of the year that I actually enjoy watching the commercials!

I am sad that the Hawks lost. I will be a PNW whiner now...

Stupid referee's....they must have been paid off.

The ball was NOT over the line...yes the Hawks should of had another TD and further more... Steelers fans treated the Seahawks like shit when they were there. Nice sportsmanship...(Oh, I should talk right? that's right, I'm a bad sport. At least I admit it when I am)

The seahawks won the game, they just lost the superbowl.

Seattle is still a better team then the Steelers.

Bring on different referee's same game, the end result would have been totally different.

There. I'm done.

I think the picture of a referee wearing a Steelers cap and a badboy peeing on him is quite fitting.
