hi guys just seeing if anybody would help me with a problem i have on rapidshare? when i want to download a clip on the free option rather then the premium option, it either says that i have to wait a certain amount of minutes or that my "ip address is already downloading a file" . i would be extremely grateful if somebody could please explain or tell me what to do or how to solve this. thanks alot guys. have a good xmas

don't use direct link from board, because of the referrer
Just copy and paste the Rapidshare-Lnk to a new browserwindow
than it works fine

You have either a dial-up connection to your provider or one via a proxy server. In that case many users have access to the internet through a shared IP adress. This is a code the internet uses to uniquely determine where to direct the data traffic to. Every computer, physically connected to the internet, has such a unique IP address.
Rapidshare uses this IP address to restrict the amount of data a particular user is able to download within a certain period. Before downloading a file you have to wait a certain time, while you can't download more than one file at a time. Everyone using a dial-up connection to the same provider machine or having a connection via the same proxy server is regarded as one single person.
Obviously, if you get this message about the IP address being in use to download a file, someone else is already using the same IP address you are connected to for currently downloading something from Rapidshare. The only solution to that problem is changing to a DSL internet connection without proxy server.
If, however, Rapidshare tells you to wait a number of seconds, you must simply await the delay time to have elapsed before a download link will appear. Click that to start the download.

i was downloading a clip that froze so i had to cancel it, since then i've been getting the same message when u try a new download about my i.p. addy already downloading so i cant download anymore until its finsished, i'm on broadband too.
i read the previous message and still cant fathom whats going on? i'd understand it if i was on dial-up.
When I was with AOL, Rapidshare refused to
work for me, but now I've gone broadband
there's no trouble at all
Maybe it's something to do with that

If you can't figure out rapidshare, you don't deserve the free clips. C'mon! you guys drive cars, operate telephones and can't use rapidshare???

Firefox has plugin to hide or change ur IP, you can use dummy proxies.
Rapidshare is smart. They've banned many dummy ips. So good luck.

Think you'll find the 'download immediately' means the person who uploaded has a premium account and 'ticked the box' for that 'immediate' option.
