How does everyone handle the acute problem of getting so wrapped-up into satisfying our sexual urges on this forum (and on whatever site we hyper-link off to) that we glue ourselves to the computer desk for hours, and end-up with aches and pains in our backs, knees, shoulders and backs?:)

Hmmm...... That IS an interesting ponder.

However, I personally have a rather fool proof solution to that problem so it rarely comes up for myself. And, of course, I can speak ONLY for myself, mind you.

My solution is called a JOB. I have to get up and go to work each day and perform the tasks with all the usual grinds and grunts at the prescribed number of tedious hours of tidy, quiet and thankful toil for the RICH WHITE ANGLO Ultra Conservative Right Wing Republican MAN so he can deceitfully pat his wife on her arse and then go trapsing off overseas in the company lear jet flanked by 6' leggy blonds with boiled grape eyes who laugh like the old "Chatty Kathy" dolls. They even have strings on their backs like Jessica Simpson.

THIS is how I avoid the above mentioned subject matter concerning a most prevalent dilema among those who aren't obviously occupied enough otherwise.

At least, it APPEARS that such a problem by its very nature would be such that it comes under the umbrella of INDOLENCE.

I can safely say I have no such problems. My back aches, if and or when it does, strictly from HARD WORK.

I hope this helps.
Now, come and see me after I win the POWER BALL and suddenly have all this free time to myself with which to sit in front of this elevated boob toob and then we'd be eye to eye on this matter for sure.

Because..... IF I were a rich man.... bomp pa-tee pa tee pa toop pa teep pa toop! I would sit in front of this PC with my cock in my hand like you!

If I were a RICH MAN, bomp pa-tee pa tee pa toop pa teep pa toop!
I'd jack myself steril as a scalpo, buy cases of Viagra too!

(Suggestion to code writers of this forum software: How about some notes and chord and lines and staff artwork for when we paraphrase songs? In addition to the "smilies" that is. Think that'd be a great party favor? )

All in good fun, my friend. I mean you no ill will. Just having a bit of a toss at the dunking man exhibit is all.

Cheers!

Err...well, I'm certainly happy to have given you the opportunity to blow off some steam here, Brother. Lord knows, I'd hate to have to read your story after you went postal on some guy driving his Lexus to the airfield to catch the Lear Jet to fly over to Europe for some of those damn fine leggy blondes.

I don't go "postal" on anyone. I've never had to use my weapon to actually KILL anybody. That is, so far. I have had to "show and tell" to make PUNKS with those stupid "butterfly knives" back the fuck off. I carry either my 9mm or my .45ACP, depending where I am and so on.
I also have a J-Frame 4 shot S&W .357 mag for a leg iron. Easily concealed. Short nose.

Of course, in Tucson, anything is possible. And the area of town I live in...err....which, embarrassingly so, is one of the least charming of all the different little enclaves within etc..., it isn't adviseable to wander around at night on foot unless fully armed. Also have to be watchful at lights at night for car jackers if driving.

Here, it is legal to open carry a Postal Weapon of choice. To conceal you need to get a PERMIT. I have the PERMIT because it is not in my character to go around looking like Wyatt Earp. Especially a person like me.

"Hey bitch, let me fondle your legs and feet or I'll put a hole in your tits!"

Y'know?

Seriously though, if you're having problems from extended seating times at your computer, you may want to check the ergonomics of your situation, starting with, most importantly, your CHAIR.

What kind of chair is it? Is it suitable for your height and weight and the way you sit? These are questions you want to ask, also, when looking at buying a chair.

Now, the OFFICE DEPOT or any one of these stores also sell a foot rest to put under the desk to elevate your feet enough to balance the distribution of weight between your seat and the bulk of your legs,...the heaviest part of these being you thighs. You've seen them. They look like a wedge. Try one of those and see how they feel.

You want to have at your butt, a 0 weight bearing position within the range between your head and feet. Very important to examine your points of contact with regard to the contour of your chair. All the while asking the simple question: Does this FEEL right.

Another thing to be aware of is how HARD the seat part is. A too hard seat will eventually become painful unless you have Karl Rove's fat ass.
( ...couldn't resist)

Make sure it has enough cushion but also look out for one that's TOO SOFT. That also isn't good because it more than likely lacks needed body weight support.

Most people just go and grab any old chair on sale and bring it home figuring, "A chair is a chair is a chair."
Not so, say many chiropractors and ergonomic engineers. Listen to them.
Read what they have to say.

If you're like me, you like to sit back in the seat. A chair that tilts back is what you'd want. If you have the habit of sitting upright, then you want a good lumbar support backrest chair. A good quality seat is not CHEAP by any means. They could run up to $450 for a half decent one. Not even talking LEATHER appointments and other LEXUS quality upholstery.
Then you'd be looking at a couple grand or more.

When I worked at the G.E. in the I.T. department, there were many days when the system wasn't crashing and the office wasn't experiencing no print jobs and can't connect to the server etc... On those days, we'd sit at our desks in front of our Dell Optiplex PCs and read, study for certification tests and all sorts of meandering on the WWW after disabling that annoying firewall of theirs, of course.

I never had any problems with sitting there so long as the chair I was in fully supported me. I'm not "light" at 200 lbs. either.
So I'd automatically look around first thing in the AM for a really big beefy chair with a good tilt back so I could sit.

From what I'd experienced, it should feel like your butt and lower back are fully "cushy comfy cozy" while sitting in it. If it feels "hard" or like you're half hanging out of it, chances are it's not right for you and your particular body. Everyone is different.

For me, it's a nice big cozy chair, not too mushy soft for good support.

I have another problem which forces me, in my case, to seek a good chair. That is SCIATIC NERVE. It's been a problem since younger days. It was enough to get me a '4-F' from the service. I was paralyzed from the waist down for months after it suddenly "WENT."
And when it did, the PAIN was absolutely excruciating. So much so, I seriously considered using my .45 caliber sidearm on myself.

My D.I. had an understanding of this, saw me EYE my holster and promptly took the piece away. He knew. They sent me home. I was definitely bound for NAM otherwise with a draft # of 34.

Afterwards, they re-recuited me for TANK OPERATOR. Driving a TANK and killing people with one of those. Just rumble in and squash everything in your path.
I was already a civilian "heavy equipment" operator so that machinery wasn't any big whoop for me.
We trained but we never saw any "action."
Again, came home. Regular discharge.

All the while I was taking PILLS for this SCIATIC condition. Seats in TANKS are not "LEXUS," that's for damned sure! Breaking in those boots wasn't much fun either.

The Chiropractor I was having take care of this gave me all this information about ergonomics and what chairs to look for and how to choose and so on and so forth. This is where I got what I'd just written. Also about bedding too, but that's another story.

You can DEVELOP a "pinched nerve" in yuor back, among other things, from sitting wrong or sitting in the wrong chair. You can also do damage to your coxic bone and other parts of your lower tail bone as well as compress a disc sitting wrong in a chair.

So making the right choice in seating is a very important thing. You also want to consider the same when buying a vehicle. Not all makes and models have the "right seats" for your particular needs. If you're back prone like me, that makes more goddamned problems to have to deal with. SuX donnit?

I wanted the LEXUS, speaking of which, because it had the right seats for me. However, there was no way I could afford one.
So, I did a bit of research and quickly found that the Toyota Camary LE was pretty much the same car only almost 20 grand cheaper.

The seats didn't need to be LEATHER. The cloth ones I have are on the same framework as those in the LEXUS. Lexus is made by Toyota.

For now, I'd suggest the usual sitting routine the mainstream prescribes.

Sitting upright, feet flat on floor or elevated on an ergonomically engineered footrest. The use of a good wrist rest for the keyboards and your monitor set so you're not bending your neck in any way for extened periods. Have it straight so you're looking at it comfortably. Some desks in offices have the monitors DOWN and under. For some who work for hours on end with computers, that head position seems to work. For others, it's not so.

Of course, EVERYONE should periodically and often enough, look away from the monitor, and around. Stand and stretch out, walk around for circulatory considerations and so on. Basic stuff.

Experiment with different ways. Anything uncomfortable feeling, even slightly, is probably an indication that it won't work over time for you.

Search the web too for help. Just type in ERGONOMICS in any search engine and the information will be tumultuous I'm sure.

That's about all I can offer for right now.

Hope it has some value.
