I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this. For the last week or so, every image that I save regardless of the site is automatically saved as a bitmap image, and I have to go through the process of converting every single one to JPEG. Does anyone have a solution to my problem.
Also when I load a MPG/AVI file, after it finishes loading it will come up with the "File not found" message, and asks me to browse for it, but that proves to be of no use.
I have only been experiencing these problems for the last week or so, so any help would be appreciated.
(I use Windows XP BTW)

hi
The best solution would be not to use windoze. :P
here are some sugestions......i take it your using IE as your browser?....if so make sure when your saving a picture from a site that the "save as type" option is not set to .bmp and that it is set to what the picture is in....jpg or gif etc.
for the video clips are you clicking the actual file or short cut to the file?.....i take it your using windows media player so try pressing ctrl and o to open a file and then select a video clip from there.
if none of that works try a virus check on your HD.....using http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Thanks for the reply but I am afraid that its neither. Somehow an association was made with Bitmap images and it will automatically save the JPEG file as a bitmap, however GIF files etc... still remain intact. I might do a systems restore, or I might try to a scan on my system, depending on the outcome.
As for the movie files, well my main player is actually Real One Gold, but that is also something that I have been having problems with, as I cant play the file full screen as it will just turn black, and have to close it with the Ctrl+Alt+Del prompt. It might be to do with the space that I allocated for my temporary files folder, I am not sure.
Anyway thanks for your help.

for the real player full screen prob try looking in the "display" settings in the real player prefs and make sure the screen mode isn`t set to something your monitor cant handle. try lowering it if it is.

Try emptying your internet temporary file cache...
