You know folks, there's something I've been wanting to say/suggest for a while now and it's time I say it.
When we first introduced the international forums in the old site I always thought that they would be used for general discussions. I would have hoped the pictures and stories would still be posted under their respected sections, whatever the language. Personally I never read the other ones (except the french forum) because, well, I can't read anything.
I am sure that there are great things being discussed and pictures posted that a lot of us are missing out on.
Also I feel that with the other forums we kind of seperate ourselves by nationality. Franlky i prefered it when we were all together. If a topic was started in Italian or whatever, i would just quickly scan over it. I bet we're missing out on very interesting discussions going on in there.
MistressValerie said it well. "At the Italian forum, there are some excellent pictures of dirty soles of street boots and high-heeled court shoes, which I tried to acknowledge with smileys."
If not for her I would have never have known they were there. Now I know you're saying, "well just look every day, what's the difference". And that's a good point.
But somehow by being seperated by such different forums I feel we're not as united as we should be. There's nothing stoping someone from starting a discussion in any language they want, but it would be nice if they were all under the same heading. I find it would make us look more united together
I would like to see the international forums removed and everybody under the same three headings we have now. A fully multicultural community under one roof.
Am I making any sense or is this a totally bad idea?
