I try not to be the type that complains but I think this will have to be an exception.

I'm a member of alt.com. I'm a paying "gold" member.

While there are several "fake" profiles and scam artists on the site, what bothers me most is the scam that alt does.

First of all it defaults your account to "automatically renew" without so much as telling you so. You have to go into your account, find the automatically renew switch (which is the easiest thing to find) and set it to off.

OK fair enough. They do what they do.

However. ALT has a habit of setting automatically renew back to "ON" status (usually just before your about to run out. They then charge your credit card and never tell you.

Another nasty habit is THEY KEEP YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ON FILE even you request to delete this card from their file.

I recently set my renew switch to "off" and deleted my credit card from their database only to be charged a renewal to that acount. With no acknowledgement.

Now I don't have an issue with someone trying to make a living, but this is stealing and can be called nothing else.

I won't tell anyone what to but if you are interested in alt.com be watchful of your account.

Thanks

Hey JJS. I had similar stuff happen to me while I was there. They didn't charge me a month though, but 3 months! lol. I'm not a member there anymore. I'd much rather join a place like fetlife that is free, and you can donate when you want. I met 1 girl from Alt.com while I was a member. (She wasn't my type body wise) The other 499 potentials were all spam.

Thanks,

This wasn't the first time it has happened. I have spoke to them and while they apologize, it still continues. I should cancel (you're right).

I have met a few on the site but not as many as you think.

The site is what it is and I won't judge them on the questionable profiles. What is upsetting is someone not being able to make a necessary charge on their card because Alt decided to extend their account without giving prior notice. No, this hasn't happened to me (Luckily) but to could. This is all I am trying to warn others about.

Also, there are seven males to every female on Alt.com.

Kind of like here? Haha. Well at least the ones that talk. I must say I have seen an influx of new members posting lately. For the most part (apart from the spam) that is a good thing.
