Bottomstep,
Do they also have the extension of "BMP" (bitmap)? This happens occasionally to me on the WWW. I don't think it's related to the site that you're on - I think it's a fluke thing that happens in Internet Explorer. I haven't researched it so I can't speak with authority. When this happens and I really want the image, I rename it and save it and then go to it and convert it to a JPEG.

It's standard IE behaviour. When You try to save broken image (not fully downloaded) IE renames it to untitled.BMP (notice format change: not JPG nor GIF, but BMP, which is very rare on the Net).
It may happen often if you are behind the FireWall, or you have slow connection. Newer versions of IE has it corrected.
As oneforall said, try to reload - it should help. Or download IE6. :)

I just saw this problem in another forum. The guy complained that he was only able to save pictures as 'untitled' and in the BMP format.
Someone suggested that he empty his temporary internet files folder and he he reported back that it solved the problem for him. The temporary file folder can be emptied under "tools, internet options"
try it, what do ya have to lose?

Yeah, Ritchie, I agree, but it's quasi-solution. The source of problem is located in old version of browser and/or slow link/proxy, which causes connection to drop and cuts pics before download is finished.
Clearing TIFF (abbr. from Temporary Internet Files Folder, not from Tagged Images File Format :)) is temporary (nomen omen) solution and doesn't solve the problem at all. After a few days it will show up again.
The only solution is to download (and install, of course) newer IE or, at least, some patches to that old version, which solve the bug (it's... misbehaviour rather, and microsoft recognizes it as bug in KnowledgeBase).
Or change provider. ;)

Deleting all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder can be a solution if there is some left over trash in there... after every session, there will be new files in this folder but you can go to Tools, Internet Options and then to te tab Advanced.... somewhere, about 10 options from the top, you will find a checkbox "Delete Temporary Files Folder on closing" which will clean up this folder every time you close Internet Explorer so your cache will stay clean... Upgrading your browser should not realy be necessary but will definetly give you more options AND it will be much more secure since the latest version contains the most (security) updates... IE 6.0 is free and is also a lot faster then older versions...

I have Internet Explorer 6 with all the latest and greatest patches
and updates from windows live update.
I also have win 2000 pro and a cable connection.
I just emptied my temp internet folder and it seems to have fixed
the problem. Whether it's only a temporary fix or not, it worked !
THANKS FOR THE ADVICE EVERYONE !!!!!

bottomstep, happy for you it does work. Of course - as You have correct (read: newest) IE and fast uplink - there may be some WWW Proxy stuff left unsolved...
danza, You've got a beautiful logo!
