just thought i'd ask all you clever computer guys....with some pics on the net when you right click on them it gives you the option to "save picture as".... and you can save them in "my pictures"........but others it says the file format is bitmap......not jpeg....is there any way that i can save those pics too..??

should be able to just go in the File / Save As ... / and then go down to file type and click on jpeg. Make sure you pick the "my Images" section.

Jpegs alot better that bitmap cuz it's a smaller file size than a bitmap with the same quality. Especially if pictures are for downloading on the internet or on web pages, jpeg is way better (takes less time to load). And the gif is just as small (+ you can animate with it). I had a buddy in college who actually wrote a jpeg like code for images. Don't ask me how it works though, it's alot of math. Cryptography and compression routines.

i've noticed that problem on a few occasions, and i've always linked the issue with an overly jpeg'd temporay net files folder. try cleaning your disk and then doing it again. works for me.
