If you get the site up next week as mentioned in previous posts, will you drop a note confirming same in the newsletter? Or do we just keep checking the board for a post confirming it's ready for action?
Thanks !

I'll be sending a newsletter, as well as posting it here...

Visa just popped some new regulations on processing that should be interesting for some people living in other countries that use 3rd party processors like CCBill, IBill, Paycom, etc...

If they don't have an acquiring bank in your country, you better get a U.S. presence fast or your site is going down.... :(

I am open to helping any site owners in that situation....just send me an email and I'll see what I can do...I do have some pull with them still... ;)

whoa, lemme get this straight cause i think i read that wrong:

visa is saying unless we own something to buy peices of your country's economy, you can't connect to our customers?

that sounds like imperial expansionism to me, not to mention monopoly....

First of all, I find USA and Canadian comparisons juvenile...as well as any USA bashing...I am a patriot for this country and think it's the best in the world...likewise, I understand other people loving their country just as much (even when they stink....hahaha)

Secondly, Visa is not a company per se, nor is it "owned" in the USA....it is an organization of banks that work together all over the world...

Anyway, this does not affect customers in the general sense of the word, although some sites are definitely going to lose their ability to accept Visa after November 15th. What it means is, if you do not have a presence in a country where there is an aquiring bank for Visa, you will not be able to process the transactions. Canada is an example of such a country....As of right now, if you are a Canadian site owner processing with a 3rd party processor, you better be moving your ass to get a U.S. corp set up, or you WILL lose the ability to take transactions...also, welcome to USA taxes...

I can think of a couple popular sites right now that this will affect. They are processing with another 3rd party processor that is lying to their customers about their ability to handle this. I know Visa/MC rules upside down and sideways and they are really doing a disservice to the site owners because they are going to get screwed in the end, as will their customers joining the sites... :(

I will put any amount of money on a bet that says I'm right....even though I don't want to be...it's going to screw some companies... :(

Again, Visa sucks...
