View Full Version : Beware Of Roman Video

I would like to share what I would call a most dissapointing purchase from Roman video. I purchased smothered sissy cuckold and received a defective dvd(which happens often from what I hear), and rather than replace the dvd or make an exchange they only wished to send me a video casette. I used my ps2 at first to play the dvd, so I thought maybe it wasn't ps2 compatible. I went out and purchased a brand new dvd player for this damn movie and it still screwed up and stopped playing 5 minutes into chapter 2. So it was their disk, I asked if I could send it back for another one but instead was ignored and sent a video casette of the movie. But now I'm charged for the dvd price for a damn video casette. Well for dvd's I'm never again doing business with Roman video(and I buy 1 dvd every 2 weeks of smother videos). My best experience has always been with smothered.com for dvd's, I've never had a problem with them. I heard from many people that Roman videos dvd's are always screwed up but I didn't think it would happen to me. Here I go to try him for the first time and guess what? I get a screwed up disk. If you want a video go for cucciolo.com, if you want a dvd go to smothered.com for the best quality and service. Roman, I have nothing against you, but you could do just a little more to please your customers. A happy customer is a loyal customer, an unhappy customer is a lost customer. Think long term buddy, not short term, or your business will never make it.
No offense, but I find this story strange....did you report back to him that you got a video cassette instead of a replacement dvd? Accidents happen....

I would also just like to add that I have nothing against Roman video(though I will never again buy a dvd from them) and that they were very polite with me and did answer my e-mails, I only wished I got what I payed for. I wasted $200 on the dvd player and $59 on the movie and I only earn $7.65 an hour. I hope this message saves a few people out there from wasting their hard earned dollars on something they won't get.

and yes John I did ask for a replacement dvd, and they ignored me and said they would send me a video casette and that was that. And you're right it is strange that a business would act this way with a customer.
Again, no offense at all....but that is almost impossible to believe or comprehend....if you bought a DVD, you should be getting a DVD.....
Bubba is a frequent poster to the forum and I'm sure he has some rational explanation...no way he'd screw you over like this...has to be some kind of mistake....be patient....

If you could maybe speak with Bubba about this I would greatly appreciate it John and promise to post many pics on your forum as my gratitude. My real name is Walter and he should have my e-mail address already and I can send him the exact conversations that I've had with Brian. I didn't deal with Bubba at all come to think of it, only with some guy named Brian.

I would say send another e-mail and or Call. I'm sure they don't want to lose a good customer like you. Mistakes do happen.
From what I can see Roman Video has a good operation and a great collection of that type of content.

Thanks for the info Hellraiser...sorry to hear about that.
Hello Hellgrinder. I've bought 6 DVD's from Roman Video and one of them was indeed faulty - this is apparently from a batch produced before Roman Video had their own duplicators.
Anyhow, after contacting Brian / Bubba about it, I got sent a replacement DVD within a week (I'm in the UK) which worked fine. I think that this is probably just a simple mistake, I'm sure if you email him again and explain what has happened it will be sorted out.

Hellgrinder,
This is the first I've heard of this incident. We wouldn't send you a replacement vhs tape if you ordered a DVD, unless as a last resort your DVD player can't play Region 1 NTSC formatted DVD's. Even if that were the case, we would automatically send you a replacement DVD that has been thoroughly tested to make sure it was the DVD that had the problem and that it wasn't your player.
Why don't you email us at romulus88@adelphia.net and we'll take care of this?
We always reply to all emails, so if you sent us an email and we didn't respond, it may never have reached us. With all the viruses going around lately, it may have been lost on the mail server....
John, Rob and the others who backed me up on this thread...thanks!
