Hi All,
I realize this is pretty weak, but thought I'd post it anyway. I just bought a DVD drive for my PC and thought I'd test out a movie, so I rented Hitchcock's "North By Northwest". This scene shows Eva Marie Saint lounging in a train car. It didn't do much for me because not much is happening but it's still nice to look at.

The quality of this scan is amazing, and shows the possibilities of the recordable DVD. Please post more when the opportunity arises!

Hi FFF1:
You should see the actual DVD movie itself! It's incredibly sharp with great color and sound (even though this movie was made in 1959). I'm not sure what you're thinking about but I used the "capture frame" feature of the DVD software that came with this drive. You click the capture icon while the movie is running where you want to generate a still image, then paste it into your image viewer.
If I run across any more items of interest to this group, I'll certainly post them.

Hi All,
Here's more from the end of the movie. This where Eva Marie Saint is dangling precariously from a precipice at Mt. Rushmore. I remember this scene from when I was a kid, because of the stocking feet being shown. And these are seamed, full-fashioned nylons (different than the ones that she was wearing in the earlier scene). Again, nothing really exciting, I really enjoyed playing around with this DVD drive more than anything else.
I included another frame of her face, very pretty. Kind of looks like Ms. Destiny being helped by John in their backyard. LOL! :)

What are you using to do captures from DVD?

I'm using Cyberlink's "PowerDVD" software that came with the DVD drive. Cyberlink sells this software for around $60 off their webpage but I bought the drive (with software included) for $45 from a local PC parts vendor. The brand of drive is "LiteOn".

No problem. I don't see a way to capture a clip with this software. That would be neat, wouldn't it?
