And now for the bad news.......
Those of you who have known me for a while know that the "old man" has had many heart problems...........
I got the results from my stress test today,and It`s not good<Sigh>...
I have to go into the hospital on 09/25/02,for a Heart Cath,and there is a 60 to 70% chance that it may go from a heart cath,to a total bypass...If it results in a bypass,I will be out of action for up to 6 weeks.
I ask for your prayers on 09/25/02,to help me make it through this...The last time.I died on the table,twice....

We can all understand your trepidation, but these bypass proceedures have become so standardized that if you check the stats you're going to see that the big risk for you is in doing nothing. Gear up for this thing, go in strong and you'll be out in no time with better blood flow to your entire body. You're not that old in modern medical terms, they do these things on men in their mid eighties. I'll be thinking positively through the whole thing.

Daddo... I have a friend who had a total bypass about 12-15 years ago.... he is still going strong and so will you. I will be with you in my prayer the day you have your bypass surgery , if it come to that? Best of Luck and a FULL speedy recovery.

a bypass sounds like a good idea...my dads friends feel 1000% better after they had 1... 1 guy had a quad bypass and he feels 30 years younger now.

I was sad to hear the news and also the fact that you're scared. You have every right to be scared but the guys are right, this procedure (bypass surgery) is done very routinely now (if you have it done).

Remember that the only real risque, is the drive to and from the hospital. The rest; the doctors nowadays have these operations fully onder control, so you will be back and absolutely in a better state than you can imagine.

You are going to lick this. Do your best to have a positive mental outlook, it has an amazing power over the body and the healing process in recovery. You could view your previous bouts with this as close to defeat (unintentional pun) but I see them as a sign that you are not ready to go yet.

There is a saying, "If you are in a boat in the middle of a storm, pray for help....then start rowing". I have no doubts that you will strike a victory pose over this storm. But you got to row brother.

I also got thru Cancer,and a bunch of other stuff.
