serious question

I've been friends with a couple for that past year or so. We are close friends and enjoy eachothers company. My question is, I recently found out they live an open relationship as an SM couple. He is the master, she is his slave (how I missed it so long pisses me off lol) I wish deeply that I could be involved in there 'antics' helping to smack some sense into her smart mouth, but I don't know if its to 'weird' to ask someone, let alone a comitted couple such a personal question. Any advice, or am I just a big pussy?
