I'm not a big fan of Vegas, living here that is. It's too darn hot, it doesn't rain enough, and there's cockroaches. However, none of the above has anything to do with my post.
I was on the Strip for Labor Day Weekend. It was insanely crowded. One advantage of happy, partying crowds is that the sandalled ladies expect to be stepping on feet and such because of how packed in we are.
I was on the little tram between Excalibur and Mandalay Bay and had secured a seat. People poured in to fill the rest of the room. I was surrounded by a group of ladies chatting at high speed, not paying attention to anything outside their group. My foot was immediately stepped on by one lady in black heeled sandals. Before removing her foot, she kicked my ankle, not in anger but in ignorance. As the tram lurched the hot African-American lady right in front of me with her short-skirted butt in my face ended up with her butt on my face. As she too was wearing high heels, it took her a few moments to remove herself. Her only response was to look back over her shoulder to see what she sat on.
My only other report from the weekend was at the NYNY Food Court (I think). Someone had spilled about half a container of like mini-cookies and I watched a succession of girls (it was next to the Krispy Kreme line) crush those cookies into pieces. Most were incidental crushes, but two teenagers went out of their way to crush the ones that were left and grind the crumbs into the floor. It was a good 5 minute scene.
