For the third time I wasted 3 hours to write a damn story on the board, but when I try and post it it says that I'm not registered. Is ther a time limit on how long it takes to type in your message before your logged out or what?

Why don't you copy and paste?

Please note: there is an identified bug with certain broswers using the Gecko engine (Gecko, Mozilla, AOL) which allows you to seemingly log in, but when you try to perform a member's-only function (such as posting), it will tell you that you are not logged in.

First, I recommend that you use IE for any VBulletin board such as this one. Second, yes, I always write my stories in an off-line app (a word processor or even Word Pad), save it, and then use copy and paste to post it here.

Best of luck to you,

Thank you I will cut and paste it. I'm using a mac does that make a difference?

I have to second Mistress Valerie on this one. For God’s sakes, use some kind of stand-alone document software (I use MS Word – stop laughing.) I’m amazed that some people actually type their material directly into the posting screen. Talk about brave!

Remember to save your material in you document software occasionally as you write it, to prevent loss off content should your computer lock up (basic computer hygiene 101). Also, if you’re still dedicated to typing in the buff (directly into the posting screen – not nekkid) and the Board kills your post, hit the Back button on your browser. You post material should still be there.

I don’t think there should be any relevant difference while using a Mac. But, hey, what do I know? The last Apple machine I used was cool because it had a color monitor!

Thanks for the replies. I'm writing the story in textedit on my mac that is a .txt application so it should work, right? I'll post the first part very shortly.
